PROJECT MANAGEMENT
If you select Surna as your partner, our first step will be to assign a dedicated Surna Project Manager to help guide your project. Your project manager will initiate a project kick-off meeting where we gather our respective teams to discuss the project requirements, timelines, and start the flow of information.
Ideally, client representatives, coordinating engineering disciplines, and construction professionals are present for that kick-off call. This promotes teamwork from the beginning of the project, ensures that every discipline clearly understands what the rest of the team needs throughout the installation process, and gets the project off to a strong start. From there, your Surna Project Manager will schedule weekly or biweekly status and coordination calls depending on the needs of the project and will stay in close contact with your team throughout.
The Surna Project Management team plans, manages, and executes the mechanical system design process and the supply of the associated equipment from contract initiation through system start-up. For every “design-to-build” project, a Surna Project Manager is assigned to be your single resource for project planning, status and information as well as a connection to Surna’s technical team.
Your Surna Project Manager will lead the team through all system design planning and design review discussions as we generate the engineered plan sets. The Project Manager will be your primary resource for support through permitting, construction, installation, and commissioning. The Project Manager understands how critical our deliverables, products and services are to your overall timeline and will work with you continuously to ensure expectations are met. As you move through installation of the system components, the Project Manager will coordinate with our Field Team to conduct site visits and reviews to ensure a smooth start up.
FIELD TEAM
The Surna Field Team is your boots-on-the-ground mechanical/HVACD installation and commissioning resource. With extensive experience in the installation, implementation, and commissioning of HVACD systems in cultivation facilities systems, the field team is there to help make system implementation go as smoothly as possible. You’ll work closely with your Project Manager to determine the best deployment of the Surna Field Team, but in general the Field Team will review the progress of installations with your mechanical contractor, be available to answer any questions that your contractor may have, and provide periodic punch lists and field reports for anything that doesn’t meet the design intent. Once the system is installed and ready for start-up, we’ll send our Field Team to work with your mechanical contractors to ensure that all equipment is started up appropriately and that everything is working as intended.
Surna’s Field Team is dedicated to mechanical installation and commissioning, but if electrical and plumbing design is in Surna’s scope, we are happy to deploy additional engineering resources to your site as needed to support those installations as well.
