Filtration and Pretreatment
To increase the life of your RO system, a water pretreatment system is necessary. By pretreating your water source before the RO system, it ensures the feed water is compatible with the RO membranes, increasing efficiency and prolonging the life.
Pretreatment can be mechanical, chemical, or a combination of both. The purpose is to remove chemicals and suspended solids that will foul up the RO membranes. This can be done with carbon filters, multi-media filters, and chemical injection.
